October in Europe

Wow I am a SLACKER!!! I cannot believe it has been a month since my last post! I have just been so busy that I have not had time to write! Well so much has gone on since my last post! Mom and Lizzie came to visit, I went to Barcelona, and then to Scotland!!! I still cannot believe what an amazing trip I am on and I am enjoying ever minute of it!

On October 8th my mom and sister came to visit me in Paris!  We had a wonderful week! I showed them all the wonders of Paris! Having them here was such a treat! We did so much around the city and I actually got to eat a good dinner for a straight week! The last weekend they were here we ventured off to London to stay with one of my mom's oldest friend! That was one of my FAVORITE weekends yet! we had such a wonderful time exploring London! We went to lots of food and clothing markets, which were a lot of fun! I really enjoyed seeing the city like a local instead of a tourist! While we were there I finally had fish and chips, and I must say the restaurant had the best fish I have ever had! I was very sad when the day came for us to say goodbye! It was so nice to have something from home there if even if it was just for a little while!

Two days after mom and Lizzie left, I headed out to Barcelona, Spain! We left very early in the morning and were in Barcelona by lunchtime! It was warm when we arrived in Spain.  It kind of reminded me of Miami.  I must admit that it took me a little while to start liking Spain.  But other than the food, I did eventually like it! The architecture and Mediterranean Sea were gorgeous! I loved the Sagrada Familia Cathedral and the Picasso museum!  The nightlife in Barcelona was a little too much for me! I am not that much of a night owl! Altogether Spain was a great experience and I am so glad I went!

When we returned to Paris we had to go back to class :(! We had a French test and it was not fun! Luckily, I had a lot to be excited for because the roommates and myself left for Edinburgh, Scotland for the weekend! Scotland was all I thought it would and more! I absolutely loved every second of it!  It was soooo pretty and breathtaking! We went to the Edinburgh Castle, took a bus tour of the city, and experienced the pub life! I saw lots of plaid and wool! Bagpipes were everywhere and so were the kilts! The people in Scotland were very nice for the most part, and very welcoming to tourist! The weather was SO cold while we were there! We had to bundle up at all times! It was so nice to be in a country that spoke English for a little bit!

I must say that my life couldn't be better than it is right now! (well maybe if I had all of my friends and family and moe's here!)  I think I have officially caught the travel bug because all I do is think of where I can go next!  It is going to be soo bitter sweet when I have to return back home!  There is some truth in what people say about finding yourself and creating a new outlook on life by traveling.  I came to Europe wanting to buy shoes and handbags and now all I want is to experience new cultures and places! I am so blessed to have this opportunity! Well until next time...Au Revior!

Monet, Fashion week, and much more!

Wow how the time flies by! This has been a VERY exciting week! Last Friday we ventured out to Versailles to see the palace where Marie Antoinette lived.  It was a beautiful day to go explore the gardens and the palace itself.  I loved Marie's room the most because the fabric that she used was absolutely gorgeous! After exploring the palace and the gardens we went to have lunch at a very sweet little cafe near the grounds.  Then we went to see a fashion exhibit showing outfits from the 18th century as well as designs from famous designer such as Dior and Chanel that portrayed the 18th century looks.  This exhibit was in the kings house so we also got to see that as well.  After the exhibit we went to the Austrian Village. It was so cute and looked just like a story book movie! Versailles was so much fun and we got to see so much while we were there!

The next day we decided to wake up quite early to go read in Luxembourg Gardens. First we went and got Starbucks of course! That was a lovely way to start a beautiful Saturday morning.  That afternoon we all ventured out to Giverny to see Monet's house and gardens.  They were just as pretty as before.  Being in Monet's Japanese inspired pond, and seeing all of the beautiful water lilies is probably the most peaceful place in the world! All of the flowers were still blooming beautifully and was just like a dream! We all got homemade ice cream before our trip back to Paris. I got peach and it was probably the best ice cream I have ever had!  The next morning we woke up and went the  American Church for Sunday service.  It was so nice to go to church and hear English! Needless to say this was a wonderful weekend!

 On Wednesday fashion week started! We got to go see the Gareth Pugh show that day and it was AMAZING!!! Yesterday (Thursday) we worked the Manish Arora and Rick Owens shows.  The Manish Arora show was fantastic.  All of the Bright colors and prints were perfect for the spring and summer seasons.  The Rick Owens show was also wonderful. It was very different from my style but it was still very cool to see the designs of such a talented designer, and we even got paid! Today we are going to meet with Ana Burk, the lady in charge of everything Rick Owens, to talk about our internships starting this weekend! I am very excited to work in his fur showroom! I love fur! Tonight we get to work for another show the Amaya Arzuaga show! We have a lot of other exciting shows to dress and see this week! I will let you know how they go! But for now Au Revior!

Winning London!

Last weekend we went to LONDON, ENGLAND!!! We had the BEST time ever! London is definitely one of my favorite cities yet! I would LOVE to move there when I finish school...oh wait that is in may! Anyway back to London, The first night we got there we went to a wonderful Italian restaurant called Prezzo.  There we met Wendy who was our lovely tour guide the whole trip! She was FABULOUS and knew all about London fashion!

The next day we visited the Victoria and Albert museum where we saw a really cool exhibit called "The Power of Making." The next few places we visited were department stores such as HARRODS! I could have died and gone to Heaven in there! It was so pretty and had the BEST stuff! Chanel was on display EVERYWHERE and anyone who knows me knows I love my Chanel! All of the stores and museums we went to were so wonderful! I especially loved the British Museum where we got to see mummies and the Rosetta Stone! One of my favorite things we did in London was going to see the Bernard Chandran show! We were considered his "friends" so we got to go into the show before people with actual invites! It was such a good show!

On our free day Ashley, Brittany, and myself explored all London had to offer! First we went to see Westminster Abbey and Big Ben.  Then we went to ride the London eye so we could see all of London. After a lovely lunch we headed to Harrods (again!) to do some Christmas ornament shopping and to get some legendary cupcakes! They were SOOOO good! After that we took a stroll to Hyde Park to see the Peter Pan statue.  It would have been a lovely place to eat our cupcakes however it decided to rain during our stroll! It was still a beautiful place and I LOVED it! To end the lovely day we decided to hit up Abbey Road to take some pictures where the Beatles did!

London was so much fun and I cannot wait to share it with my mom and sister in a few weeks! I am so excited they are coming to see me! More post to come soon! Au Revior for now! 

Disneyland PARIS!!!!

Hi all!!!! I am still having a BLAST in Paris! Classes are few, but learning is everywhere!!!! Yesterday some of the girls and myself traveled to Disneyland Paris for a fun filled day! We had to take the metro all the way out of the city. We had no idea that when we arrived to our destination that it was going to cost 25 euros to get out of the station! Luckily because we looked like helpless Americans we were able to go through for FREE!!!! The day was soooo much fun! We went to the Studios first which is like MGM in Orlando. They had the Tower of Terror and many other fun rides similar to the ones at home.  After riding some rides and exploring that park we headed over to the main attraction...magic kingdom!!! As soon as we walked in we could see Sleeping Beauty's pink castle before us! It was just like being a kid again! we went all over the park to all of the different lands.  My favorite ride was in Fantasy Land....It's a Small World!!! It is just as magical as it is at home! we rode many rides and had a BLAST!!! One thing I did not like about this Disney is that we really did not see any characters.  We saw Buzz Lightyear, Pooh, Cinderella's mice, and Captain Jack Sparrow.  I was disappointed that I did not get to see Mickey or Minnie!!! That however did not ruin my fun! It was definitely a wonderful experience and day!!

Today, however was rainy and cold! We tried to make it to Church this morning but the weather and the public transportation thought otherwise! After we did not make it to Church we grabbed a salad at quick (a really good fast food place kind of like Wendy's) and headed back to our apartment.  We had a big task ahead of us because we had to get our laundry sorted and walk down to the laundry mat.  The rain was MISERABLE and we had A LOT of clothes! we made it through waiting by watching Sex and the City 2 on my computer! Tonight we went to Indiana, the Mexican like restaurant.  It was quite tasty, but very frustrating because the waitress did not speak English.  I guess I need to learn more French! We have a very busy week ahead of us with a surprise field trip tomorrow and London on Wednesday! I cant wait for that! Until next time....Au Revior!

Sorry this has taken for ever, but you know it takes me awhile to figure out technology! Well as you all probably know I have made it safely to Paris and am all settled in! I have two wonderful roommates and we are having the time of our lives! The first night we were all went to a nice dinner with Peter and Tim! I had a very French Turkey dish and Creme Brulee for dessert! YUMMY! The next day we had a few classes and finished getting organized with phones and apartment things. That night Ash, Britt and I  went to the Eiffel Tower and got a strawberry, banana, and nutella crepe! We walked back and got to do a little sight seeing. The weather was wonderful! So far my favorite thing has been going to the Pret a Porter mart and seeing what will be popular in spring 2012! I am very excited for all of the new colors, prints, and designs! We should have a very fashionable spring! Today we met with Ana Burk who works with Rick Owens and Gareth Pugh.  We are going to be interning with her for both of their shows and for the Rick Owens showroom. I get to work with fur which is something I am very interested in! I CANNOT WAIT! After French class we are going to have a speaker for Fashion forecasting and fashion on the move! This trip is definitely an experience of a live time and I am enjoying every second of it!

well guys it's 5 days until I head off to PARIS!!!! The packing has begun however I cannot believe that I have to pack for 4 months in ONE 20x20 box!!! CRAZYYYY!!! I hope I dont forget anything!!!
